Thieves Oil

Thieves Oil comes from research about four thieves (The Four Thieves Vinegar ) during the 15th-century plague who used cloves, rosemary, and other blends to protect themselves while robbing plague victims.  The men made a concoction of herbs and essential oils in a base of vinegar and would cover their body with it before they went out plundering!  The herbal ingredients were rosemary, camphor, wormwood, meadowsweet, juniper berries, sage, cinnamon and cloves in a base of white wine vinegar. History records that the perfumers seemed to have an immunity against the plague.

My son was getting an ear infection from putting his head under water in the tub. Water was in his ears. I heated a little thieves' oil on a spoon and tested it on my wrist to make sure it wasn't too warm. I filled his ears with it and gently pulled to allow air or water bubbles to surface. His ear infection went into remission. It never developed.
